About Us

What is FitKarwaan?

FitKarwaan is a provincially registered health and wellness non-profit organization that focuses on creating healthy community members through yoga-fitness, health awareness, and community service. Our team is led by healthcare professionals with over 20 years of experience in the wellness industry and supported by a committed group of community members from all over the world. Inspired by the word “Karwaan”, meaning group of travelers on a long journey, our motto is to take our members on a Journey Towards Total Fitness through daily wellness programming. We activate members of the community to rethink wellness attitudes and are advocates for healthy lifestyles backed by scientific research, years of experience, and specialized training.

What is “Total Fitness”?

At FitKarwaan, we strive for fitness at the physical, emotional, and mental level, and how we not only make ourselves “FIT” but also our communities.

Our Philosophy

Everyone’s Journey to Total Fitness should be free, safe, and accessible to diverse people with intersectional identities. As such, ALL our wellness programs are free of charge that can be attended via ZOOM from the comfort of your home. Live online Yoga classes infuse energy into your space, body and spirit that one cannot receive from recorded sessions. It is similar to the energy you feel while watching a live sports event.

Only registered members have access to zoom links. This not only allows us to provide high-quality wellness programs delivered by certified instructors, but our strategy is mindful of various personal preferences and cultural nuances that foster inspiration, motivation, and holistic development in a safe space.

Our Goals

Promote Health.

Promote health living and awareness by creating community-oriented programs to engage people from all backgrounds and ages, especially those from marginalized communities.

Give Back.

Give back to front-line workers through wellness classes and activities to support their wellness goals (which often go unnoticed while they serve others).

Overcome Obstacles.

Find ways to tackle social determinants of health through community projects such as blood drives, donation drives, media campaigns, and awareness seminars all of which target socially disadvantaged groups (Indigenous, immigrant, racial minority, women) who have disproportionately poorer health outcomes in obesity, neurological development, mental health illnesses, CVD, HF, and diabetes.
